Nephi's Wife

                Didi is the youngest daughter of well-respected Ishmael in the land of Jerusalem. In the midst of political turmoil, the four sons of Lehi visit their home and invite the family of Ishmael to leave Jerusalem and join them in the search for a new land of plenty and peace.

         With mixed feelings, Ishmael’s household begins their journey with Lehi’s family. Unexpected adventures make them realize the gravity of their situation. Tensions arise, threatening to tear family relationships apart. It takes the cooperation of all and the guidance of God to keep them progressing on their journey.

             Initially excited to be marrying Nephi, her childhood friend, Didi discovers he has changed, and appears to be far above her in spiritual stature. Struggling in her role as a young mother and supportive wife, her need to find her own testimony of God reaches a climax, and the answer surprises and strengthens her. But will it be enough to help her hold her family together?

Madelyn S. Palmer published a teen fiction series, the Land of Sterling. She contributed two biographical sketches for the Women of Faith in the Latter-days, volumes I and II. She is writing several historical fiction novels about individuals in the scriptures. A common theme in her writing focuses on journeys of self-discovery.

Her books, Elinore’s Choice and Matthew’s Redemption, received the Gold Seal of Literary Excellence. Amber’s Dilemma won the Pinnacle Book Achievement award.
